The Best Looks Leading Up to the Premiere of “Wicked”

The best time of the year has rolled around, and I'm not talking about the holidays. Wicked is finally in theaters after all this time, and with that it is receiving ravishing reviews. Setting records at the US box office, Wicked is a must see — not only for the talent, but also the fashion. The best thing to accompany your post-movie blues is to look through the cast’s best looks that lead up to the premiere!

The tantalizing World of Oz was brought to the Olympics, city streets, talk shows, and red carpets through fashion. Effective in making show stopping moments, the cast has taken every opportunity to dress the part. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have been giving us glimpses into their characters with glimmering, powerful pieces, leaving us in awe.

The pretty-in-pink lady Ariana has worn bubbly, flowy looks with many accentuated drop waists. Cynthia has lived in her character's dark color palette, accessorizing with her bold jewelry, eccentric hats and dazzling nails. Her mix between glitzy, light-weight fabrics and shiny leather-like fabrics harness Elphaba’s exterior and interior as a character. With a lean into emphasized masculine shoulders structures, the feminine cut-outs compliment beautifully.

The last year has been a spectacle observing the build up to the big screen. Every look has brought to life a different part of each person’s character. If given the chance, I know we all would steal these looks to keep for ourselves. Here is hoping that the sequel will come relatively soon in the near future so the cast can keep giving the people what they want. It is obvious Glinda and Elphaba were born to be pioneering fashion icons in the Broadway musical industry after you see these pictures.
