There is no better feeling than being confident in your skin- a feeling most can only describe as blissful, clean, and utterly relaxing. Skincare has become increasingly complicated, with many different types of products on the market, not only meant for various skin care elements but often marketed differently, problematic to understand, or blatantly untrue to the product itself. Skincare is something we apply every day, and whether you have a simple skincare routine of two products or love a pampered ten step routine, it is always important to consider the ingredients in the products you are exposing your skin to. We set out to find skincare that benefits you, and we talked to Murmure, a French skincare brand that is breaking into the industry with a beautiful selection of plant botanicals.
Let Us Introduce You…
Murmure is a French brand born in South France and co-founded by Jonathan Klein. Jean-Paul Bereste, who "was like a second father to me," says Klein in an exclusive interview with The Citizens Poste, dedicated his life to studying botanicals. The idea for Murmure was partly due to Bereste's book "Le Manuel de l'Herboriste à ̀ Toulouse" and partly due to Klein's wife's fascination with the chapter that included information on cosmetics and skincare. She pushed Klein to get in touch with a French doctor, and from there, the idea of Murmure came to life.

We at The Citizen's Poste wanted to know everything about this up-and-coming skincare brand, starting with Murmures' definition of clean beauty. With the term "clean" being used by all sorts of companies, how do we sort out brands that indeed are what they say from brands that are greenwashing or falsely marketing their products? Klein agrees that clean beauty remains an 'unregulated term' and says that at Murmure, "all our formulas always include the highest levels of naturality possible." They firmly believe that customers shouldn't have to worry about possibly putting harmful products on their skin, and we can't help but agree with them.
In an ever-changing and constantly growing industry, we wanted to know how Murmure is sticking to its values and mission amid the oversaturation of the skincare market. Klein reminded us that the current market consists of two types of products. The first is boring products that are often effective but relatively unsurprising. The second is over-advertised, aesthetic products that usually need more benefit. Klein's company remains the best of both worlds, acknowledging "that we are not alone; our distinction lies in our formulations and unique approach to combining underused but proven botanical extracts with modern activities." There is a commitment to quality, which can only be described as a breath of fresh air.
Favorite Products
As important as learning the values, sustainability, and product quality of a company, we were allowed to have some fun, so we asked Klein what his favorite products were in the plethora of botanicals that Murmure offers. Their key ingredients are innovation and efficiency in their formulas, a perfect combination for a quality skincare product. One favorite botanical of Kleins is the mallow flowers, which he says, "This beautiful purple flower holds special significance for me—it's not only soothing and hydrating but was also cherished by my godfather." This brand is built on quality ingredients, human connection, and authenticity. If Klein were to pick a favorite, it would be their Blue Tea Moisturizer, [it] "is designed to repair your skin's barrier and I can't live without it…after years of research and development to perfect this formula…the texture, the scent, the effects... it's all there!"

With many different skincare products taking the internet and industry by storm, our media is flooded with something new every day, which remains a wasteful and costly way to upkeep a skincare routine. The lovely thing about Murmure? "It embodies timelessness," says Klein, and that truly is what we want in our skincare. "In France, products must demonstrate safety before they can be sold," which is refreshing from so many other brands, especially in the US, where there are way looser regulations for what a product might contain. Murmure is meant to embody "opening the shutters of a French cottage to reveal a secret collection of unique botanicals. Like you have just unearthed a hidden garden and the further you venture, the more you discover," which is always a good description to hear from a company, further proving to their audience how much love has gone into this brand.

So, what's next for Murmure? The brand is looking to expand its presence in retailers and physical stores, making its products more accessible. And there's more to come- they're gearing up for another launch! Murmure embodies the values that the skincare industry should strive for, and we're excited to see them grow. Personally, I'm looking forward to adding a few of their beautiful botanical products to my skincare routine this summer. How about you?
